Forty-six years ago, Charles R. Terry began practicing law in East Tennessee. Originally from Bulls Gap, Tennessee, Charles Terry eventually opened Charles R. Terry & Associates at 918 West First North Street in Morristown.
Being from Bulls Gap, the Terry family has been significantly involved in the surrounding communities of Rogersville, Greeneville and Morristown. Because of convenience of travel, Morristown was chosen as the office site.

Charles R. Terry & Associates eventually became Terry, Terry & Stapleton after Denise Terry Stapleton and F. Braxton Terry joined the firm.
Today the Terry family truly is a family law firm having Charles R. Terry who has been in practice for 46 years; Denise Terry Stapleton who has been in practice for 20 years and F. Braxton Terry who has been in practice for 11 years.
Chuck Terry also serves as a paralegal – investigator and has been at Terry, Terry & Stapleton for over 12 years in that capacity.
Located in Morristown, Terry, Terry & Stapleton is now able to serve most all of East Tennessee. The attorneys at Terry, Terry & Stapleton routinely practice in the courts between the Tri Cities (Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City) and Knoxville.
The attorneys regularly practice in Morristown, Rogersville, Greeneville, Sevierville, Newport, Dandridge, and Rutledge, as well as the Tri Cities and Knoxville.

Here at Terry, Terry & Stapleton our attorneys have handled a variety of cases; however, the cases we handle generally have one underlying theme: Helping the people of East Tennessee who have been hurt or injured in some way.
This underlying theme leads us to handle a number of different types of cases. We routinely help people that have been victims of medical negligence or malpractice, or persons that have been injured by a defective product or a product that has been poorly designed. These cases are typically called product liability cases.
We are regularly involved in helping people who have been involved in a tractor trailer accident or other automobile accidents. We also do work in premises liability cases.
The lawyers at Terry, Terry & Stapleton pride themselves in being trial lawyers that help those people who have been hurt or injured. Many times a person’s case does not fit into a nice and neat category. The lawyers at Terry, Terry & Stapleton often talk with those people to determine how we can best help those who have been hurt and injured.
Over the past 46 years, we have taken pride in assisting the people of East Tennessee. We have secured verdicts against defendants in amounts ranging from $31,000,000 against Combustion Engineering; $15,000,000 against Mazda and $7,000,000 against Ford Motor Company.
